We take the photo you submit of your boat and recreate it in a beautiful, vector file. You get a proof of the artwork and can request any edits before approving.
Once approved you can take your design and print it on any items in our merchandise store!
Everyone's tastes are unique - that's why we offer two different styles for your artwork: A detailed, full color rendering of your boat, or a simplistic line artwork that highlights the unique shape of your vessel.
We'll be honest, getting your boat looking perfect isnt easy. That's why we offer unlimited revisions until you are happy with your artwork.
Don't worry if your photo isnt perfect, we can remove people, tweak colors and more. Just review our Photo Guidelines before ordering.

It takes 5-7 days for our artists to digitally recreate your boat and send you your first proof.From there, if you request revisions it is typically 2-3 days per revision, depending on complexity.Please note: during peak holiday times delivery times can vary.
Our artists are pretty good, but there are some guidelines to make sure your photo is acceptable for our artists to work with.
If you submit a photo that won't work, we'll be sure to email you ASAP and work with you to select a new one that meets our criteria.
Absolutely! We email you a proof of your artwork for you to approve or request edits to. We offer unlimited revisions so we'll keep working with you until you're happy with the design.
Once you approve your custom digital boat artwork, we will send you PNG, JPG and Ai files of your design and logo.We also keep these files in our system so if you ever lose them you can just come back and download them again.

We simply charge $30 per person & pet that our artists create for your custom boat design. If you would like to do this, please make a note in your order notes or email help@thecustomcaptain.com with your request and our team will take care of it!
If you don't have a good photo but want to order, do a google search for your boat make and model.
Download the image that is closest to your boat and use that one!
We can change the color, add some small features, and put your boat name and port beneath the photo to make it yours. Just remember, make sure you like the angle of the photo, because we can't change the angle of the illustration.
