Here’s How It Works
1. Upload Your Boat Photo
First, take a high-quality photo of the boat you want to feature on your custom merchandise. This could be your father’s prized possession, the family yacht, or even a favorite boat from a memorable adventure.
Then go to the Custom Captain order page and upload the image. It’s fun and straightforward — even pictures taken with your phone can work. We’ve also provided 8 simple tips to help you get the right boat image. The better the image quality, the better the artwork you get back.
To upload the image and place your artwork order, follow the steps below:
Choose Your Artwork Style: Here, you choose the kind of digital artwork you want. You can either select a Line Drawing or Full Color. Click Next to proceed. Please note that you cannot change artwork styles after sending your order.
Upload Your Boat Photo: Upload the image from your device. If you want, you can also select a font type and add the boat and port names. Click Next again to proceed to checkout.

Select Recommended Add-Ons: This is an optional part. You can scroll through our popular merch items and pick something fitting for your dad. You can also shop for various custom gits after you approve your design.
2. Our Artists Turn Your Boat Into A Digital Graphic Design
Now that you’ve uploaded a photo of your boat, our artists will start working on your photo. This typically takes a few days to complete. We’ll transform the boat picture you submitted into a beautiful vector file.
Our artists can create beautiful designs from any type of boat, including yachts, picnic, sportfishing, speed, platoon, and sailboats. You’ll get an email with a proof of the artwork and can request edits before approval.
3. Approve and Receive Your Design
Before you approve the final design of your boat, you can request unlimited revisions. We'll be honest: getting your boat looking perfect is our number one priority. That's why we offer unlimited revisions until you are happy with the look of your boat. After all, you want to be able to flaunt it on any merchandise you order.
Once you approve the artwork, we’ll send you a digital copy of the high-resolution file. This artwork will be perfect for printing on any item you want to buy your husband or dad. You can also check out some of our boat designs to get an idea of how our artwork looks.
You will also get an artwork ID unique to Dad’s design, allowing him to return anytime to order seamlessly from our merchandise store. Like Matthew, you can also use the artwork on your merch.
